Anti Ragging

Anti-Ragging Policy

At Disha Group of Institutions, we believe that every student has a right to a life on campus that feels safe, calm, and free from fear, ensuring an environment that supports learning. We follow a zero-tolerance stand on ragging whether it happens inside the campus or just outside it, too; it is non-negotiable. We aim to build a space where respect tends to be normal, and seniors and juniors coexist as equals in a supportive academic community.

What Counts as Ragging?

According to the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and UGC rules, ragging means any act that could be, or might be, harmful to a student’s body or mind, or that raises fear or stress, or pushes someone to do something they normally would not do. This idea covers many acts, for example:

  • Verbal abuse: using words that insult, tease, or hurt, very often in a loud or mocking way.
  • Physical abuse: any kind of touching, holding, or force that causes pain or discomfort, even a little.
  • Mental harm: an action that lowers confidence or affects peace of mind, sometimes slowly over time.
  • Money pressure: forcing students to give cash or pay bills for others, nearly as a demand.

Administrative Action and Punishment

Ragging is treated as a criminal act, and anyone found doing it, helping it, or planning it could be punished. Depending on how serious the act is, the institutions will take one or more steps, typically:

  • Immediate suspension from classes and academic privileges.
  • Stopping or taking back the scholarship or any benefits, in that case.
  • Blocking the students from tests or exams, even temporarily.
  • Removal from the institutions and blocking entry into other institutions, very firmly.
  • Filing an FIR with local police.

Anti-Ragging Committee and squad

The Disha Group established a dedicated Anti-Ragging Committee and a surprise-visit Anti-Ragging Squad. These bodies consist of senior faculty members, local administration representatives, and student mentors who monitor the campus 24/7 to ensure total safety and discipline.

How to report an Incident

If you are a victim of ragging or witness such an act, do not remain silent. Your identity will be kept strictly confidential. You can report the matter through:
